Random Bullet Points

- I have been in a blogging lull for a few days. Hopefully I will come across something worth blogging in the near future. But until then, I am going to continue stalking all of your blogs.

- I have eaten WAY to many brownies in the past three days. Darn that PMS.

- I have been kind of apathetic about life lately. I am going to blame the above reason for eating the brownies. But then again, I blame everything on that, and very rarely is that the sole reason for my moods. So now I am just trying to get back on the ball.

-Hubby FINALLY wrote a political post. So go here to discuss and disagree and all the fun stuff that politics brings with it.

That's it. See, I told you I am in a lull. More non-interesting suff coming soon!

Movie

Being an avid lover of Adam Sandler's films, I think I am going to like this. It looks like a cute little family-friendly movie to see around Christmas!

Recommendation

I found this pretty cool site quite a few months ago and had forgotten about it until now. So I visited it again, and loved it just as much as the first time! Its olayforyou.com. You click a few buttons to tell the "voice" about your skin and it will give you a product(s) that is supposed to be perfect for your age, skin type, and area you want to target. Weather it is lines and wrinkles, acne, skin discoloration... you name it, they have it. Its pretty cool.

So if you are looking for a good skin care product, or your just bored and want to click cute buttons, go visit!

a.n.g.e.l.

I cant remember the last time I have listened to the radio with Zachariah in the vehicle. He loves his CD’s, and is usually quite the happy camper in the car as long as they are being played. So I sacrifice my tunes for his mind-numbing alphabet songs so that I have a happy baby. And most of the time I even ignore the strong urge to stab myself in the eye with a sharp utensil due to listing to the SAME TWO CD’S OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Anyway.

Zachariah and I were on our way home from the park today… driving with the windows down and my music cranked up (in case you were wondering, it fluctuates between Rock 103 and Q102) for once. For a moment I completely forgot I was driving a mini-van. I forgot I had a one year old in the backseat. I forgot I was on my way to Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries that we missed earlier this week. For that moment I completely forgot I had any responsibilities whatsoever. I wasn’t stressed or depressed. I wasn’t pissed off at nothing in particular. I didn’t have a care in the world. I actually thought I was eighteen again, on my way to my 2 pm English Lit class. I was absolutely loving this moment. Singing off key to Angel (by Natasha Bedingfield) with the wind blowing through my hair. That moment was perfect.

Then the song ended.
The baby cried.
I pulled into the crowded Wal-Mart parking lot.
I realized I was driving a mini-van instead of my old Nissan.
And I remembered I was a 23 year old mom, not an 18 year old college student.

Darn that reality.

Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE my life now. I wouldn’t change it for anything. But being a mom is difficult and challenging. And because of that, sometimes I miss the college days where I didn’t have a care in the world. And it was nice, if only for a moment, to remember those days.

Charice Pempengco

I caught the tail end of Oprah the other day and saw this. If you haven't heard this 16 year old sing, I strongly recommend watching the video. It left me sitting here with my jaw dropped to the floor. She has one heck of a voice.

Another DP Addict

For those of you who don't know, Daniel is a major Dr. Pepper addict. And because of all the DP stuff we have around the house, Zachariah has become very interested in Dr. Pepper cans and bottles. When he sees one he will crawl at an incredible speed to try and get to it before we take it away (he is usually not very successful). But the other day I opened the fridge and he made it in there before I could close it, and he started squealing like crazy when he saw all the Dr. Pepper cans. So we gave him a can... and he was in heaven. We have NOT let him drink any yet though. That will be a while down the road. Or at least until his Daddy or Uncle Greg decide to give it to him when my back is turned. :)

All that being said, go check out some cute/funny pictures of the incident that my hubby posted over on his blog.

Update and Photos

It seems like Zac has changed so much the past couple days. He is definitely not a baby anymore (which makes me sad), but I don't consider him a toddler yet either. So we are in that in between stage. He is still crawling constantly, but he is getting closer and closer to taking those first steps. He has been cruising on the couches and windowsills, and anything else he can find! He has been able to stand on his own for a lot longer now too. But I am still ok with the crawling. He gets in enough trouble already! I cant even imagine what it will be like with him running around the house!

A couple weeks ago Zachariah got his first tooth, then a week later, he got his second! So we have two cute teeth on the bottom gum. (See previous post for picture)

On Zachariah's birthday weekend we took him to Turtle Park to get some one year old pictures. While we were there we played on the playground and he fell in love with swinging. So I am now looking into getting an outside swing for our house! But anyway, here are some of the pictures that we took. If you have facebook you can check there for the rest... I just didnt feel like posting a thousand pictures on here. :)

I love his smile!
Yeah, thats right.
He is standing all by himself.

I had my hopes up about getting a real cute picture of him looking at the camera while sitting on this bench. After several shots like this I just gave up. lol

He loves him some swings!

And this one is just for laughs. :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Its a Beautiful Day

The weather has been FABULOUS the past two days. I am not kidding. It has been 70 degrees instead of 90. Around noon it gets in the upper 80's, but I can live with that. So we went outside to absorb all of the cool weather we could. There is nothing better than playing outside in the cool morning breeze, in your PJ's, with the cutest baby in the world. It was great.

Here is a picture of Z enjoying the great outdoors and reading his favorite book to Mr. Turtle.

And here he is (finally) showing the world his new teeth.
What a ham. :)

SNL

Most of you have probably already seen this video,...but just in case someone missed it, I wanted to post it for all to see. It cracked me up.
Two thumbs way up for Tina and Amy. :)

A Shopping Dream Come True

Since Z has officially hit the 1 year mark, I decided I wanted to see how he liked "big people milk" (I don't know why I just referred to it like that, but just humor me). My friend Tammi has told me about Almond Milk that her family has been drinking, and I (and by I, I mean my son) wanted to try it. Well low and behold neither of my two shopping places sell it. Rumor has it that Publix is the only place in town that sells it. So Zachariah and I head on over.

Let me just stop you here and tell you that I haven't been to Publix in about 2 years. We usually do all of our grocery shopping at good ol Wal Mart, and occasionally go to WinDixie to pick up a few random items that we forget at Wal Mart.

So Zachariah and I trot on into Publix, and low and behold I fall in love. I stroll through the store in amazement. I cant believe that I have been shopping at Wal Mart all these years. The fact that I had a shopping cart that wasn't about to fall apart was enough to make me want to do a happy dance, but then the neatness of the store, friendliness of the cashiers, and the fact that I waited a whole 5 seconds in line completely won me over.

I just wish that the price difference between the two stores would be worth it. *sigh*
Maybe I can start playing the lottery in hopes of coming into a butt load of cash so I can start shopping at Publix.

Birthday Party in a Nutshell

We had Zachariah's birthday party Sunday afternoon at a local coffee house here in town. At the start of the party, we dedicated Zachariah to the Lord, and I am so glad that we were able to do that with all of our family and friends surrounding us! It was a very special time and we are so pleased with how everything turned out. A BIG thanks goes out to our family and friends who helped us out with everything! And I would especially like to thank our friend Hayley, who brought her camera and captured the special moments for us!

So without further adieu, here are some pictures from the big day!

Watch This

I saw this video, and just assumed it was a joke. It just had to be. But the more I watch it, the more I think it is actually for real. I just don't have the right words to express how I feel when I watch this. I think my good fried Pam puts it best when she says, "It's like squishing a spider under a book. It's gonna be really gross, but I have to see if it's really dead."

(And I know everyone probably already knows this, but just in case there are the few out there that may be a bit confused... you are going to need to pause the music player on the right hand side in order to hear the video.)

8:03pm

I have been sitting here for over 2 hours trying to type this post, and I have been pretty unsuccessful. It is partly due to all of the distractions that are all around me, but part of it is because I am just not good with expressing myself- especially in writing. Its just not my thing. But alas, here I am.

Try as they might, no one could have prepared me for the experience of being a mommy. Despite all of the stress, moodiness, weight gain, and depression, I wouldn't change this feeling for anything. I would have never imagined that such a little person would have such a huge impact in my life. It seems like just a week or so ago that Daniel and I were in the hospital holding our baby boy for the first time. And tonight, at 8:03, he is turning a year old. I am mostly in shock. I just cannot believe that my baby is turning a year old. I would really like to find a way to stop him from growing up, because it is happening way to fast!

All that being said... I will never be able to properly express how wonderful it is to have Zachariah as a part of our family, but it sure wouldn't be as enjoyable without him.

Happy Birthday, Zachariah. I love you more than you will ever know.

Tunes

So if you haven't already noticed, I have put a play list on my blog. At first I found it annoying to go to different blogs and have music blaring at me. But then once I took control of the volume I rather enjoyed it. So I have compiled a play list of some of my favorite songs. I am nowhere close to being done, so give me some time. But here is the first draft. Let me know what you think!

Also, I have been wanting to do some polls here recently, and what better time to start than now! So here ya go.

And again...

Here are my two favorites from last night on America's Got Talent...

Nuttin But Stringz did a fantastic job, per their usual. The way they own the stage just amazes me.

And Eli Mattson makes me swoon. His voice is just so relaxing. I guess I was making it well known how much I liked him, because I have recently been informed by hubby that this guy would make a bad boyfriend. So you know, now my hopes of tracking him down and asking him out on a date are a bit diminished. Ah well. Maybe next time.
(To watch his first performance, click here. It gives me chills every time. I LOVE it!)

On a little different note, Kaitlyn Maher melts my heart. She is the most adorable little 4 year old! To watch her performance from last night here. She preformed Beauty and The Beast... and did a pretty good job!

America's Got Talent- Top 20

I know some of you are tired of these updates, but I am running low on blogging topics. So these are my space fillers. And considering it is coming on again tonight, expect another one soon. :)

Extreme Dance FX has got to be my favorite "dancing group" they have on this show. They are some kick butt cloggers! I would definitely pay to see them do an hour long show in Vegas.
(click here to see their performance from last week... which was freaking amazing)

I don't know what is going on with the sound in this video, but here is Jessica Price. I don't think she will win, but I think she has a great voice and she is just so darn adorable!!

Last video for the day is going to be the Wright Kids. I think they sound pretty darn good for little munchkins. And the smallest boy is so cute. Especially with his instrument being bigger than he is. It cracks me up watching him carry if off stage.

One thing that has pissed me off from the beginning is that Daniel Jens has made it this far. He is a horrible singer. He has not had one performance that has sounded good, and yet he has made it on to the top 20. Why you ask? Because he just got done serving his country in Iraq. So that means that no matter how badly he sucks he moves on through to the next round. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great that he was serving his country. But I also believe that reason is the ONLY reason he has made it through. And that makes me a bit hostile. Hopefully he will get voted off this time.

Ok folks. If you actually read and watched all these videos then you have way to much time on your hands. :)
Tune in tomorrow for more!

Mini Photo Shoot

Zachariah and I were a bit bored today, so we decided to go outside and take some pictures. Unfortunately the photo shoot really didn't take up a lot of time, but I got some cute pictures out of it! So I am happy!

Anyway, here are some of my favorites. These would be so much better if the light weren't all up in his grill. *sigh* I will get it right one day.
Enjoy!

P.S. A big THANKS goes out to my friend Jamie for making the adorable onesie that Zachariah is sporting in these pictures. :)

Yay or Nay

Does anyone have any experience with a Swiffer Vac? I really, really, really want to justify buying one. I think it would be a whole heck of a lot easier and quicker than sweeping. Though when I told Daniel this he just busted out laughing. So I wanted to check out here in blogger land to see if anyone has any positive or negative things to say about this lovely product.

Two of My Favorites

The semi-finals of AGT have been going on for the past couple weeks. My all time favorite would probably have to be Nuttin But Stringz. I absolutely love watching them play. So for your enjoyment, here is their performance from last night. (To skip the intro, go to the 1 min. mark)

A group that just made it onto my list of favorites is The Taubl Family. I don't know what it is, but I find them quite entertaining to watch. Here is their performance from Tuesday night. Luckily they were voted into the finals, so I will have at least one more video to post in a week or so. (To watch the Taubl Family's first performance, click here.)

Randomness...

I am quite the cranky-butt today. I cant motivate myself to do anything worthwhile. My poor kid is bored to death and I am just way to lazy to take him anywhere. Its one of those days where I wish it were raining so I had an excuse to be lazy and not do anything.

Z is FINALLY cutting his first tooth. I can feel the little booger on his bottom gum.

This is the FIFTH day that Z has had diarrhea. He has no fever or any other alarming symptoms. And since he has a tooth coming in, the Dr. said not to worry about it. But I am about sick and tired of changing these nasty diapers.

This town is boring me. I have been getting the itch to move. I just don't know where. Or what we will do if we do move. All I know is that if we ever get out of this town, it is going to be a must to move into a colony of stay at home moms.

Did I mention how cranky I am? It really is quite ridiculous.
