Insight

This post is for all of you mommy's out there.

How the heck do I get my son to take longer naps? They only last for about 30 min. during the day. Its RIDICULOUS. So if you have any tips that worked for getting your baby to nap longer, puh-lease let me know.

And just in case you were wondering, this is the time for you people to actually comment. I know, I know. Its rough. But get off the blog lines and let me know what has worked or not worked for you. I am desperate here.

Initial thoughts:
1) He might not be tired when you're putting him down for a nap...OR...he's hungry and waking himself up because he wants to eat...thus the catnaps?/ Maybe try to stretch him out a little longer before you lay him down for naps so that he's more tired? And make sure he's got a full belly when you lay him down.
OR...
2)he's just a light sleeper but doesn't know how to put himself back to sleep if he awakes during a nap. Once you lay him down, don't go get him again for at least an hour...even if he wakes himself up. He'll either learn to put himself back to sleep, OR if he's not tired (or hungry) he'll lay contentedly until you go get him.

What Tammi said :) That is a great question! I wasn't sure how to answer myself, but I think Tammi is right on.

We are in the process of going from 2 naps a day to 1 and it's just awful!

I agree with the first comments. I was going to ask what schedule was he on. that always helped mine.
both of mine would take about an hour to an hour and a half mid morning nap about his age and then around a 2 -2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoons. of course the mid morning was saying they were up around 7-7:30am. if i think of anything else i will get back with you on facebook. :)
