Birthday Boy

Monday, my son turned three years old.

Holy freaking cow. That just blows my mind.

But then again, I think I was kinda prepared for it. For the past 3 months or so he has been acting very much like a "big boy" and not so much like a toddler. It makes me sad to see his baby/toddler phases fly right out the door, but it is very fun to see him turn into a little boy. And if he were reading this he would make sure to tell me that he is NOT a little boy, he is a big boy. :)

I don't have a ton of pictures to show you yet, and that is because his party is not until this weekend. But I do have two pictures from his birthday morning I can share if you want! They are pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

We started with pancakes for breakfast (his request). He called them his "birthday pancakes" and was VERY excited when he saw birthday candles sticking out of them. All through breakfast he kept thanking us for his birthday. It was THE cutest thing ever.

After breakfast he opened his gifts (which I will blog about later.), played with said gifts all morning, we went to the riverquarium (his idea), came home and played with his toys some more, went to Mimi and Poppie's house for a family celebration, ate cake, and came home and crashed. Even though it was not the official party day, he enjoyed the heck out of it.

He told me, "Mamma, I am so happy. My birthday makes me happy." It melted me. I just love this kid, and I love that he loved his simple birthday so much.

I'll be back soon to tell you how the party went! :)

Birthday Post

Happy Birthday to my favorite brother!!!

Oops. I probably shouldn't say that. My other brother might get mad at me. Sorry, Dustin! It was just a slip of the fingers. :)

So yeah, my airman brother turned 23 today! It kindof stinks that I cant see him on his birthday, but he will be home for Christmas, so I can give him his imaginary birthday gift then. Hee hee.

Hope you had a great day of birth, Wesley! I cant wait to see you in a few weeks!!

Toot Toot Chugga Chugga Big Red Car

For his birthday, Zachariah got a bag full of different goodies from my friends Marie and Hayley (Who he affectionately calls Hay-Hay and Arie. Talk about adorable). Everything in that bag was a hit, but there was a certain car and train that won his heart.

Thanks Hay-Hay and Arie! Zachariah loves his car and train! :)

And on a slightly different note. One day, when I have the money and the time, that kitchen floor is going to be replaced. *shudder*

The Cake Eating

You have already seen the wonder that was the birthday cake, so now its time for me to show you the eating of the cake!

Zachariah was not to sure what to think of everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to him. It kind of weirded him out a bit. But then this weekend when everyone sang to my grandmother for her birthday, he acted like it was for him!

Silly boy.

And here he is blowing out his candles... or at least an attempt at it. The cake was still a mile away from him. I guess this was his test run?

Here is the first big bite of his scrumptious Blues Clues cake! I love the closed eyes. He must have been savoring every bite of that cake.

And because I can't get enough of cake eating pictures...

Oh, what? You want to see more???

Fine. But only because you asked so nicely.

And that concludes the cake eating portion of his birthday! Pictures of the rest of the party will be showing up on the next blog post. :)

The Cake

I have been a horrible blogger this week, and I apologize. I shot someones senior pictures this past weekend, so I am trying to get those pictures ready and to the family ASAP.

I have pictures from Zachariah's birthday party that I am dying to put up... but until I get time to edit those, I am going to show you his cake. Now why am I going to dedicate a whole post to a measly birthday cake? The answer is quite simple really. It's because this cake was the CUTEST cake in the whole entire world!

Ok, maybe not the cutest in the whole entire world. But it came close. I was super de-duper pleased with how it turned out.

It took me two days to make this sucker. I dedicated a whole day for making the all the different colored icing, then the second day was baking the cake and decorating. After the decorating was done I went to the store and found these adorable Blues Room characters and just plopped them on the cake! It was so easy to do! I will try and post a tutorial in the next day or two.

Except I wont. Because none of that actually happened. I did order the cake two days ahead of time though. That counts for something, right?

No? Didn't think so. Ah well. Can't blame a girl for tryin'.

Despite the fact that I did not even lift a finger in the cake making process, didn't it turn out cute?!? I was super please with it. Seriously, I did a little jump for joy when I laid eyes on this baby.

And check out Blue! Tell me that is not the most adorable Blue you have ever seen. Yeah. That's what I thought.

And you know what makes Blue even cuter?

The fact that it's a finger puppet. Yep. That is just pretty darn cool if you ask me.

As if you couldn't tell by the pictures and babblings, I was very excited about this cake. And Zachariah was too! He is STILL talking about it. Every single day this week he has come up to me and said "HAPPY, HAPPY!" and then say "cake!", "Booo" (for Blue), and then pretend like he is blowing out his candles.

That right there is just about the only thing that is cuter than the Blues Clues cake. :)

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yep. Today is my birthday! And I am 24 whopping years old. Which is still young. So I am totally fine with turning 24, just in case anyone was wondering. Next year may be a different story. But I will enjoy this feeling while it lasts. :)

My family and I are currently out of town (more on that later), so we celebrated my birthday earlier last week. My sister was in town too, so we had a joint b-day celebration, per our usual. Our birthdays are only 10 days apart, so this happens often. Yay for July birthday's! :)

This is me and my sister, Amanda. You may have seen her in the comment section before, but she is a LAZY COMMENTER, so its not often she actually pipes up. :)

Take note of what we are holding in our hands. My sister has her cake of choice, which would be dirt cake. And I have my cake of choice, which would be cheesecake. Half with cherry topping, the other half with blueberry. My mom made both of these scrumptious cakes. Yes, she is quite amazing like that. :)

Speaking of my mom, here she is with Zachariah and my dad. He mooched quite a bit off of their plates. AFTER he finished off my cheesecake. He is such a little sneak.

Anyway. That is my birthday post to myself. Happy Birthday to me!

I will be posting more later, once we get settled in to our location. :)
Ta ta for now!

Birthday Shout Out

Just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my brother, Wesley! He turns 22 years old today... And yes ladies, he is available.

And these are the ghetto cupcakes I made him. Don't make fun. I was sick and I don't have any experience with decorating. So this is what I ended up with. lol

Happy Birthday, Wesley!

Birthday Party in a Nutshell

We had Zachariah's birthday party Sunday afternoon at a local coffee house here in town. At the start of the party, we dedicated Zachariah to the Lord, and I am so glad that we were able to do that with all of our family and friends surrounding us! It was a very special time and we are so pleased with how everything turned out. A BIG thanks goes out to our family and friends who helped us out with everything! And I would especially like to thank our friend Hayley, who brought her camera and captured the special moments for us!

So without further adieu, here are some pictures from the big day!

8:03pm

I have been sitting here for over 2 hours trying to type this post, and I have been pretty unsuccessful. It is partly due to all of the distractions that are all around me, but part of it is because I am just not good with expressing myself- especially in writing. Its just not my thing. But alas, here I am.

Try as they might, no one could have prepared me for the experience of being a mommy. Despite all of the stress, moodiness, weight gain, and depression, I wouldn't change this feeling for anything. I would have never imagined that such a little person would have such a huge impact in my life. It seems like just a week or so ago that Daniel and I were in the hospital holding our baby boy for the first time. And tonight, at 8:03, he is turning a year old. I am mostly in shock. I just cannot believe that my baby is turning a year old. I would really like to find a way to stop him from growing up, because it is happening way to fast!

All that being said... I will never be able to properly express how wonderful it is to have Zachariah as a part of our family, but it sure wouldn't be as enjoyable without him.

Happy Birthday, Zachariah. I love you more than you will ever know.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yep. I am 23 years old today. Its kind of crazy to think that I have been married for almost 3 years, I own a house, and I am a mommy to a 10 month old baby. I dunno. It kind of seems like I should be a lot older than this. But I wouldn't trade this for the world. And quite frankly, I am glad I am only 23, as opposed to a whopping 26 like my hubby. :)

So in honor of me, I have decided to post pictures of back in the day. I tried to find some pictures of me with the bangs and braces in middle school, but failed. So if anyone has a copy of those horrific days... please let me know!

I think I was 6 months old here.
(yes, I was quite the chunk)

My first Easter!

My second Easter!
(apparently that was a popular
time to take pictures)

Miss Priss
Me, Wesley and baby Amanda

I think this was my 3rd grade
picture. But I am not too sure.

And last but not least, a picture of me and my
adorable family celebrating my day of birth.

That's all for now... but have no fear, I will be back tomorrow for more postings!

My how time flies

Its so hard to believe that Zachariah was born 6 months ago, today.

It seems like just the other day that we brought him home from the hospital, but at the same time, I cant remember what life was like without him.

Here are a few pictures to show you how much he has grown over the last 6 months!
