Cuter as the days go by

We took Zachariah outside today to see if he would crawl around on the grass. Needless to say, he absolutely hated it. But he eventually started playing with the pine straw, so I got a couple cute pictures! We will try crawling around with nature another time. :)

*It should be noted that right after this mini photo shoot,we discovered about 10 ant bites on his chunky little legs. Poor baby. :(

Tofu Anyone?

I was searching the net for Tofu recipes and came across this. I may try to make it tomorrow for Zachariah's lunch, provided I can find all the ingredients.


Baby Eel Tofu:

• Step 1:
  Take a bowl of water, and slowly boil.
• Step 2:
  Place a large cube of tofu into the bowl.
• Step 3:
  Immediately add live baby eels. To escape the heat, the baby eels burrow into the still-cold tofu.
• Step 4:
  Boil until tofu itself is cooked. The baby eels will be cooked inside.
• Step 5:
  Remove tofu, which will be riddled with holes like swiss cheese. Serve like raisin loaf.

...Step 6: Throw up

America's Still Got Talent

We watched America's Got Talent again last night, and I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't as good as last weeks episode, but I guess that is to be expected. There were quite a few acts that made it to the next level that I didn't think should have even come close to making it. The boy band wanna be, colorful cowboys and Grinder Girl for example. But they didn't ask me to be one of the judges, so I guess it doesn't too much matter what I think.

There was this one act that was absolutely amazing though. It is the Russian Bar Trio, and I find myself gaping at the screen every time I watch it.

So grown up

I was cleaning Zachariah's closet today and found his infant to toddler rocker. So naturally I couldn't help but put him in it (which he wasn't too happy with) and compare pictures of when he was a teeny baby. He spent the first three months of his life sleeping in this because of his congestion. So, we grew pretty close to this little chair. It is crazy to see how much he has grown. If it wasn't for the pictures, I wouldn't believe he was ever this tiny! And he is just going to get bigger and bigger. How do you stop them from growing up so fast?!

New Blogger

9 months old... and all is well

The past couple of weeks have been FULL of milestones for Mr. Zachariah Alan. So I am going to take a few moments to tell you all about his accomplishments!

Zachariah has been eating table foods on a pretty regular basis. We have just about stopped the baby food… except for one jar at dinner. (I haven’t tried him on a lot of table food meats… so we need to get the protein somehow!) His all time favorite table foods consist of mango, yogurt, green beans, and egg yolks. But there isn’t a food that I have given him that he wont eat. So that’s a plus!

Another one of Z's accomplishments as of late has been his communication. We have been teaching him baby sign language, and he has been able to recognize quite a few signs. But he officially did his first one ("more") a few weeks ago. He has learned to communicate that he wants to be picked up by raising his arms up in the air, and he has started to wave “bye- bye” (I love the backwards wave!!!). But be warned… he has to be in the perfect mood to do it on cue. So don’t expect him to start automatically waving next time you see him. :) Also along the communication lines, Zachariah has come SO incredibly close to saying his first word. There are three words that are competing for the “first word” title… and I am honestly not sure which one will win. Its between mama, dada, and up! Its extra cute when he tries to say “up” cause all he can do is the “puh” sound. I absolutely love it.

And last but not least… his mobility. He started to roll wherever he wanted to go, and that was hilarious. But as of last Thursday, my little man started to crawl!!! (I will post a video soon) He acted like he was a pro from the get-go. It was as if he had been practicing in his crib for a few weeks and all of a sudden felt like showing us what he could do. So we have spent the past few days baby-proofing the house and chasing Z around. It really is a rude awakening when I sit him down with some toys, turn around and before I know it, he is underneath the computer chair I am sitting in. Ugh. But it’s cute, he loves being mobile, and I think it will help his cranky attitude he has adopted recently. (I wonder where he gets that from?) Now all we need to do is work on this dadgum clinginess. *Sigh*

Oh! One more thing. He is starting to get his balance while holding onto things. No pulling up on furniture or anything, but I can stand him up and he perches for a while. He looks like such a little man when he is standing!

Munchkins

I kept Tyler earlier this week and let me just say, Zachariah loved having a little friend to follow around. It was uber cute to watch them play together. I could actually walk out of the room without Z screaming at me. He couldn't care less where I was, as long as Tyler was crawling around near by. So needless to say, I will either need to find a rent-a-kid center or just hang out with Tammi and Tyler more often. :)

New Favorite TV Show

I am totally hooked on America's Got Talent. It comes on NBC on Tuesday nights at 9:00, and I will be watching it each and every Tuesday. Last night was the first episode, and they had some pretty crappy people on there. But the few good ones were absolutely phenomenal.

This one has a intro that is a bit long, but totally worth it. These brothers are so incredibly talented.




This is a 4 year old little girl named Kaitlyn and she is by far the most precious girl I have ever seen. I almost cried my eyes out when I was watching last night. (this video is much shorter than the last)



If you have some time to kill, I would recommend going to the website and watching the recaps. They will probably do a good job of entertaining you.

Happy Dad's Day

Just wanted to give a Happy Fathers Day shout out to my Dad, Father-in-Law and all the other Dad's out there! I hope you have a fantabulous Fathers Day!

And a special "Happy Fathers Day" to my oh-so-wonderful husband... who is such an incredible father to our precious baby boy. I am so thankful that he will grow up with a great role model of what a father should be like.

And Zachariah is apparently getting pretty sick and tired of my laziness. Either that or he is getting tired of me chucking him into the laundry. I am honestly not too sure which one it is.

Wow that seems like it was forever ago. Lets see, I had just graduated High School. I got my first summer job, with Daniel as my boss, and started dating him not too long after that! (after the job was over of course... I wasn't a big fan of Daniel when he was my boss. How ironic? haha)

What are five things on your to-do list for today?

1. Get a shower (just did that)

2. Print some pictures for Zachariah's photo album.

3. Cut up fruit for Zachariah's lunch.

5. Pester Daniel until he prints a canvass for our living room. (that will have to carry over for the next week or so)

4. Adopt a baby internationally. Daniel and I really want to do that. But dang, its expensive.

5. Donate a whole lot of money to World Vision. And probably sponsor a ton more kids. It breaks my heart to know that children are dying every day because they don't have clean water, food, or proper medication. I want so badly to help each and every one of them...

A Little Taste of Pool Time

Here is, yet again, another video. I seem to be obsessed with these lately. I apologize in advance for the length of this video, and for the obnoxious sound of the air conditioner in the background. And for some reason the quality of this video sucks. I am going to have to try and figure that out...

I hope to blog a more detailed post in the very near future. But SOMEBODY (and I will not name names *coughzachariahcough*), is in a bad habit of yelling at me if all of my attention is not on him 24/7. So I will have to wait until I get a few moments to breath. :)

Little Chair

We went to Target tonight to kill some time... and while we were wandering aimlessly, we found this adorable little chair! So I plopped my son down on it and couldn't help but whip out my phone and take a picture. When he is old enough, we are going to HAVE to get him that chair. It is obviously a safety hazard now, but one day that little chair will have a new home in his bedroom!

On a side note...
I was going to say that Zachariah looked studly, but then (for some odd reason) I looked up the definition of studly. The definition, according to The American Heritage^® Dictionary of the English Language, reads:

ADJECTIVE: Having a well-developed physique; sexually attractive. Used of men.

So naturally that made me very uncomfortable to use that word while describing my son.
So I refrained.

Just thought I would share that tid bit with you folks.

Feeling Generous?

I decided this morning that I desperately need a laptop. The way I see it, I would get a lot more stuff done around the house if I owned one of these. You see, the only time I get on the computer is during Zachariah's nap time. (That is because he acts like a booty if I leave him for more than a few seconds.) So I figured if I had a laptop I could check my blogs, email, and facebook all while being in the room with my son so he isn't screaming. Therefore freeing up nap times to clean the house, do dishes, prepare dinner, take care of my personal hygiene, etc... You see what I am getting at? The whole world would benefit from this. Well maybe not the whole world, but my family would.

That being said, does anyone have a spare laptop laying around??

Need Your Input

I am looking for a booster seat for when we go to the beach this summer (because who really wants to carry around a highchair?). I have found this one, this one, and this one that I am interested in. But I cant really make up my mind. So I was wondering if any of you moms out there would help me out.

What booster seat do you recommend?

Summer blues

I am bored. There is only so much entertainment I can get out of a clingy 8 1/2 month old. I am running out of things to do with him that don't involve sitting in front of the TV. Its going to be a looooong summer.

So I am wanting to find a part time job. That pays decent mula. That isnt a pain in the butt. That I can do sitting on my tucas here at home. With a baby.

Another Video

Here is a video of Zachariah that I thought was cute. Unless you are family, you may not think it is anything special. Its actually a little annoying after a while. (haha) There is something about watching someone else's kid do really simple things that isn't usually very entertaining. Anyway, I thought it was funny, so I am posting it...so I apologize if it gets annoying. But hey, you can always turn it off. :)
