Help Needed

The Facts:
Zachariah eats dinner at 5:30 or 6:00 pm.
He drinks about 8 ounces of milk with his dinner. Sometimes less.
He does NOT drink anything after dinner.
He goes to bed in between 7:30 and 8:00 pm.
He wakes up in between 7:45 and 8:30 am.

The Predicament(s):
1) For the past couple weeks, he has been SOAKED with pee when he wakes up. I am not talking about a little damp. He is drenched from his thighs to his armpits. It is so gross.

2) For the past few nights he has been waking up two to three times a night, and I am pretty sure its a combination of teething and sleeping in a puddle of his pee. It is becoming increasingly difficult to get my required 8 hours of sleep.

The Question(s):
What the heck do I do?? Has this happened to anyone else?

When his diapers have started leaking before, it meant that it was time to go up a size. But we JUST went from size 3 to 4. Those fit him wonderfully. So that isn't the problem. I am just so lost. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  1. that's weird.
    And that's a lot of pee.

    When you say "drenched with pee" - do you mean his clothes actually get wet??? Or his skin is just damp??

    I would maybe switch to a different diaper brand. If you're using cheap ones, maybe try pampers.

    And give him less to drink at dinner. It's good that he drinks so much liquid, but 8 ounces is like a full sippy cup, right??
    Just give him half that and then make up for it during the day by giving him more.

    that's what I'd do. :)

  2. I mean his clothes, blankets and sheets get wet.

    We are using pampers... that is what is confusing me! In my opinion, they are the best brand out there.

    And that is a good idea. I may try that tonight! Thanks! :)

  3. I agree. Less liquid late in the day, more earlier in the day. You'll be doing this for a long time to come. Do they make night time diapers???

  4. My girls have always done the same...and I have had to use a size bigger at night time. We have daytime and nighttime diapers. the size is not about the "fit" it's about the absorbancy. Technically, at 2 years old both little girls could be wearing sz4 but they soak thru at night. We use 4 during the day and 5 at night. works perfectly. and we use pampers.
    i would also limit the liquid with dinner....8oz seems like a lot.

  5. we went through that as well, for about a month, adn reading this just made me realized they are always dry now. weird. the only thing i can think of that i didn't try {we used overnights, one size bigger at nite, etc...) is to add one of those rubber covers. good luck!
