Coffee Art
I met a couple friends at my favorite coffee shop last night, and one of the workers was trying to show off some of his coffee art. Poor guy didn't quite do it right, but I imagine that it is pretty difficult to do. Anyway, that got me looking for some coffee art this morning, and I found some really cool stuff!!! I would NOT mind having my coffee decorated like this.

300th Post
Yep. That's right. I am on post number 300. And what better way to commemorate my blogger milestone than to share a video of my adorable child!
We have been loving us some Backyardagins here recently. Zachariah has actually tried to mimic their tap dancing, which ends up looking clogging. Its absolutely hilarious. I have been trying for weeks to get his tap dancing on video... but every time I pull out the camera he comes and tries to see himself in the camera. *insert eye roll here*
I am not too sure what type of dancing he is doing here... he just kind of made it up as he went along. I will keep trying to get a video of the tap dancing though!! :)

Tagged Again
You might be proud to know that I..... have been studying up on photography. I have never liked studying for school, but I am really enjoying learning this time around.
You might be surprised to know that I..... am basically Betty Crocker. I have really gotten into a cooking/baking groove lately. I am jonesin for some good recipes if anyone out there has them! I may need to make that a separate post though.
You might already know that I..... am a horrible housewife. As we speak, there are a ton of dishes that need to be done, a kitchen that needs to be swept, bedrooms that need to be cleaned, and a load of laundry that needs to be done. And I am sitting here trying to come up with not-so-boring things to put on this post.
You should probably know that I..... am trying to be more social these days. I have realized how much I have deprived myself adult interaction since having Zachariah, and I am really missing it. So I am slowly but surely trying to get back in the game. :)
You may not believe it when I tell you that I..... took Karate a few years ago. I quit after the third class, therefore preventing me from getting my white belt. So I am a self-declared "clear belt" in martial arts.
You might have always wondered why I..... drive a mini-van. Its because I am just that cool.
You might think "it figures" when you consider that I..... have been having some major baby fever. Luckily, I am going to be able to babysit my newborn nephew for a couple months while his mommy goes back work. I think that will take care of the fever for a little bit!
You might wonder about my sanity if you knew that I..... have conversations in my head on a very regular basis. I actually come up with things I would do or say IF a certain situation ever occurred.
You might think I'm weird if you knew that I...... check my email at least twice an hour. I have somewhat of a computer addiction.
You might laugh to know that I..... really enjoy watching The Backyardagins with Zachariah. Its one heck of a entertaining cartoon, and I love watching Z try to tap dance with the characters.
You might roll your eyes when you know that I...... am tagging some of the same people I always tag. Hayley, Jamie, Marie and Rachael... your it!

Yippie!
As most of you know, I have been griping and complaining about needing a new camera. I am have been wanting to try my hand at photography, but I have been kind of bummed with using my point and shoot. I just cant improve the way I want to with that thing.
Well, Daniel did our taxes this weekend, and we were happy to find out that we are getting a little more money back than we thought. So my fabulous husband decided to order a camera for me!!! You can click on the picture below to get all the info on it, if you are curious. I should be getting it this weekend, and I am super excited!
Excuse me while I go do a happy dance. :)

A New Hat
Zachariah and I have been getting on each others nerves here lately. It doesn't help that this cold weather doesn't make for good outside playtime. We reached the point where we just HAD to get out of this house. So we bundled up and headed out to play in they yard for a little bit. The cold didn't bother him one bit, but once I couldn't feel my hands anymore I decided it was time to head inside.
Anyway, here are some pictures from our short playtime. I am trying my darnedest to get comfortable using the manual mode on my camera, so if the quality on the pictures aren't that great... its cause I haven't quite figured everything out. Hopefully I will get a handle on it soon. :)
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

I kept trying to get a picture of his new hat... but this is what he would do when I brought the camera near him. *rolls eyes*

Takes Me Back
Zachariah and I were watching the 25th anniversary DVD of Sesame Street the other day, and I was reminded of one of my favorite songs by Chris and the Alphabeats. I just think this is the funniest thing! I love it.
(The Count blabbers on for a bit, so go to the 50 second mark to see the actual song)

My Nephew
Saturday I got to take some pictures of my seven week old nephew. This was my very first "photo shoot" and I had a lot of fun doing it. This little guy was wide awake the whole time I was over, but did a really good job cooperating! A big thank you to Tammi for letting me borrow some of her props!! And thanks to the Czerw's for letting me use their adorable baby for my photography practice. :)
Anyway! Here they are. I still have a whole heck of a lot to learn, but this is a start.

Question For Ya
Ever since Zachariah was six months old, he has been a FABULOUS sleeper. He sleeps from 8pm to 8am without waking up AT ALL (unless he is sick). The only sleep aids he needs are a paci and his favorite blanket/stuffed animal. He has never had to be rocked, bounced or sung to sleep. Oh. He also takes two hour and a half naps during the day. Needless to say, he loves his sleep.
The past four nights or so he has been waking up at pretty much the same time every night. Any time between 11:20 and 11:40 PM he will wake up crying. It is very unlike him, and he doesn't really seem to need much when I go in there. He calms down immediately, lets me lay him back down and eventually falls back asleep with no problem at all.
I am about to google it... but I figured I would go ahead and call on all of you people with kiddies just in case I didn't find anything. :) Did your kids ever do this? Do you know why? And do you know a solution to it?
Thanks!!

Another Owie
Let me start off by saying that I am absolutely dreading the "Terrible Two's". Zachariah has been showing his not-so-sweet-side here recently, and I am not a fan. He is starting to throw tantrums and get really ticked when I tell him "no". Not even a month ago he would stop dead in his tracks when I would call his name in a disapproving tone. Now, I can tell him no, pop his hand, raise my voice, and he will do one of two things. Scream and try to hit me (or run far away from me, whichever is easier at the time), or smirk and keep doing whatever it is he is getting in trouble for. Don't get me wrong, he has a ton of sweet moments during the day. But I am not looking forward to the temper getting worse.
Now that you have a little background, I can continue on with my post. :)
This morning I was doing laundry (an annual occurrence in this house), and Zachariah decided he wanted the laundry bag I was holding. So naturally, he goes to snatch it from my hands. Well, I am sure enough not giving it to him, so I hold onto it and tell him that he cant have it right now. Then comes drama. He flings himself into the door frame of our closet door... resulting in a nice goose egg on his forehead. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as the first boo boo, but it has left a pretty nice whelp.
So for the record, here are a couple pictures of the wound.
You should know that he generally uses the ice pack for teething. He is not a big fan of putting it on the injury. :)

Pictures
Here are a few pictures from this weekend. Zachariah and I went out to play while daddy was cleaning the kitchen. Yeah... I know. I married a good one. :)
After 10 min. of playing with sticks, Z decided to play peek-a-boo with me. It was the cutest thing. I almost wish I had my video camera, because these pictures don't show even half of the cuteness that was being displayed. :)
Oh. and just for your info... I am starting to put a watermark on my pictures. Not because I think my pictures are so amazing that people will want to steal them or anything. Seeing as how my blog isn't private, I just feel safer knowing that it wont be as easy for someone to take them.
Enjoy!

Stuff
I feel like I need to apologize to my 5 readers out there. I have been kindof slack on my blogging. I just don't think I really have anything substantial to post these days. My life as of late has been consumed with "studying" photography, learning photoshop, stressing about finances, losing (and thankfully finding) my wedding rings, having our new stove installed (more about that later), and watching an endless amount of Elmo's World and The Backyardagins (which is my new favorite cartoon by the way). Along with taking care of my toddler, who has a new favorite hobby that consists of throwing tantrums for no reason whatsoever.
So I am hoping to get back in the game this week. I will be posting some pictures later today, so be on the lookout for my cute kiddo. :)

Take Out the Trash Day
Lately, one of Zachariah's favorite things to do with Daddy has been taking out the trash. Every single time Daniel bags up the trash in the kitchen, Zachariah squeals with excitement because he knows a walk to the big trash can is forthcoming.
A couple weeks ago Daniel bagged up the trash late at night, and instead of strutting down the driveway in his birthday suit, he just set it outside the back door. So naturally, when we went outside the next day, Zachariah saw the bag sitting there... and went crazy. He insisted on taking the trash down himself. So I grabbed the camera and recorded the cuteness.
Oh. Yeah...you may want to turn your volume way down. I tend to forget how close the speaker is on the camera. So I apologize for the obnoxious screeching.
I know this looks more like child torture than anything else. But he really did want to take the trash down. He just kept getting a bit distracted. He never did make it all the way though. :)

Ramblings
Weather.com reads that it is 75 degrees, partly cloudy, and winds are at 16 mph. I LOVE this weather. Seeing as how its January, the perfect weather is a little misplaced. But I will take this over the high 80's and 90's any day.
I decided to take advantage of this fabulous weather this afternoon. Zachariah and I had a fun time at the park today, and I am currently sitting under a tree in my front yard listening to some music while my baby naps (with the monitor right next to me of course).
To tell you the truth, I have had one heck of a crappy morning. Turns out Daniel did too. Its apparently just been one of those days. Usually when my morning is crappy, the rest of my day is shot. But its amazing what nice weather will do for my mood.
I am choosing to pretend that I don't have an extremely messy house and a sink full of dishes inside. Once I go back in the house I will probably feel a bit guilty for neglecting my wifely duties. But until then, I will continue to enjoy the breeze blowing through my hair as I browse the net... secretly hoping that my house will clean itself while I am out here.
Did I mention how much I love this weather??

A Shot of Life
Photographer I am not. But I would love to be able to claim that title one day. It has never been a lifelong dream of mine, but I have taken a real interest in it over the past year or so. I often get discouraged because of my intermediate camera and amateur Photoshoping skills, but I am doing the best I can with what I have got.
That being said, I am stealing a creative idea from a blog friend. I have created another blog, A Shot of Life, solely for the purpose of improving my photography. I hope to be updating it daily. I would love it if you stopped by and let me know what you think. I am going to be asking for tips and showing you my progress as I improve. I think this has the potential of helping me... so lets hope I stick with it. :)
